A SPEAKEASY SINCE 1932
GLENDALE’S OLDEST WATERING HOLE
With a fabled and historic past, Dave’s on Broadway isn’t just one of the Oldest Bars in Los Angeles, it is Glendale’s Oldest Neighborhood Watering Hole. Originally operating as a Speakeasy in 1932, Dave’s was rumored to be connected to the Grand Ball Room of The Hotel Glendale, by an underground tunnel beneath Broadway.
CELEBRATING THE END OF PROHIBITION
On December 5th, 1933 Prohibition came to an end and the following day Dave’s on Broadway “Officially” opened. Not too much changed over the years as this cool little bar brought together Neighbors and the City of Glendale Workers, who’s offices are directly across the street. Full of good conversations, libations and salutations, this famous lil’ bar has recently been upgraded, but maintains its welcoming neighborhood appeal. 2021 ushers in a New Era and a New LIFE for Dave’s on Broadway. As we all move on from 2020, Dave’s on Broadway, and our Staff, look forward to serving you & making great memories.
